Millwater Interchange begins construction

The construction of the Millwater South Facing Motorway Ramps has commenced.
The Ramps are being constructed by a joint venture between WFH Properties Ltd, who is the developer of the Millwater residential subdivision and, Highate Commercial Ltd, who are the developer of the Highgate Business Park.
The design and consenting of the Ramps has been a collaboration between WFH, Highgate, Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and the NZ Transport Agency.
The construction is being undertaken by Ross Reid Contractors Ltd and Fulton Hogan Ltd.
The works consist of:
- An off ramp from State Highway 1A, linking to Wainui Road on the western side of SH 1A.
- An upgrade and widening of the Millwater Parkway from Bankside Road to the Wainui Road over bridge.
- An on ramp to SH1A from the Millwater Parkway at the intersection with Timberland Drive.
To facilitate construction, there will be durations when the contractor will be required to temporarily close the Millwater Parkway and divert traffic through the local road network.
The construction work is programmed to finish in May 2015, with a targeted date of August 2015 for the ramps to being operational.
